    Hi David,
Do you have breast cancer? If so, breastcancermen@yahoogroups.com

The question is important. The answer is dependant on the status of your diagnosis:

1.Surgery and “staging”. The surgeon must be specialized in breast cancer surgery. He/she must have experience in sentinel node investigation and “margin” determination.
    2. The outcome will then determine your “stage”…a very specific method of classifying the progress of the cancer.
3.Dependant on your “stage” , “cancer cell hormone susceptibility”, and newly developed cell characterization…a regiment of chemotherapy drugs and radiation will follow.

The cancer centers in large metropolitan areas (1/2 million) are all plugged into current breast cancer treatment methods. The fabulous thing going on is: with such a large number of cases occurring, the data base of treatment methods and outcomes (death rates) is enormous. With a good experienced surgeon and oncologist, there is little in terms of art, guessing, and “secrete potions”. The research is current and proven.

You have to “live in the day” and try to be comfortable in knowing that there are to absolute guarantees. Be the best person you can be.
