Absolutely, that’s why women are encouraged to get them beginning at age 40 even if they don’t feel any lumps or have any symptoms. And breast cancer is more likely to be cured when caught early, so it’s an excellent idea to follow the recommendations on mammograms!

YES they are very important to get every year. If you find a lump then make an appointment imediatly. My mother and grandmother both had breast cancer and it was found early so they are both doing great now.

Yes, they can detect it real early. I had a biospy done, on a suspicous area, and it was maligant. I had a lumpectomy, and radiation. It was still in stage 0. It was the very beginning. Good luck to you.

“Screening mammography is a widely used test that can detect small cancers before they can spread.”
“Screening mammograms are performed on women 40 years or over with no breast symptoms, for the purpose of detecting breast cancer at an early stage before it can be felt or noticed.”
